Wow - you guys are GOOD! It looks like pretty much everyone guessed my new crafty series I am announcing today! (am I that transparent? LOL!) First off, a congrats to Amelia Hara who won the stampset prize! (Amelia, email me your address and I'll send it off you to asap!) :) And now... my 4th big announcement of the week, my new craft series of...
Thursday Threads!
Every Thursday is now dedicated to the very trendy comeback of sewing! I will be covering everything from dolls, purses, clothing and even, yes you did guess it, QUILTING! There will be tutorials available to help those of you just branching out into this HOT craft, and hopefully I will be offering some ideas for those of you more 'seasoned' sewers as well! (who knows, I might even have some guest appearances coming up)
To kick this series off, I am announcing my new class series on Quilting:
Quilting with Kari
I'm so excited about this, as I have had so many requests to offer this class, and to get it 'up on the boards'. Well, it's up, and I have designed what I think is the ABSOLUTELY MOST PERFECT BEGINNER QUILT for you! We will be making a frayed edge sampler lap quilt, and each month I will offer a new block design for you to try out. You can take one class and make your entire quilt based on that design, or take the series over time and make yourself a gorgeous sampler and learn as you go!
The first class is offered Tuesday, June 21st from 7-10pm. Before your first class, you will purchase a bundle that will contain all of the supplies you need to make the entire quilt (whether you choose to make it all the same square from the same class, or a sampler-version). *You only need this bundle one time* and then you can simply register for the classes as you wish! I highly recommend that you start THIS MONTH, so that you can make the quilt with ALL the squares we learn! You will learn new techniques each month, and each month will build on what we've already covered - you want to start from the ground up if you can!
June's quilt square is a very basic 9 Patch Block. We will cover the basics of how to match points, how to sew multiple blocks at once, piecing, and basic handquilting (we will cover both handquilting and machine quilting during this quilt series).
All the details can be found here on the registration page - I hope you can make it - this is going to be a FABULOUS series, and the goal is to have a completed quilt by Christmas!! Click here for more info!!
(if you can't make this class date, you can make it up at the next crop on Thursday, June 30th from 7-11pm (drop in) - just be sure to sign up on one or the other sites!)
