For this week's Thursday Threads, I thought I would share with you the quilt square we will be doing in next month's Quilting Class. Remember that each month we get a bit more complex and build on the skills we started the month before. Also, I have had a lot of requests to do an online class option as well - I'm going to look into that and let you know as soon as I can. As of now, I am planning to get something going for you and hope to be ready by next Thursday! :)
Ok, so for this month, we are going to start branching out into setting 'inside' seams. While this is a frayed edge quilt, we will also be doing lots of styles within the blocks themselves, including applique, typical quilting design, etc. This particular block (a standard 'Hole In the Barn Door block) is a combination of frayed-edge and typical seams, so that we can start working on perfecting our point matching.
We will also begin work on the next step of hand quilting - how to draw a simple pattern onto fabric, and quilting a non-straight edge design. Be sure you sign up for the first installation of the quilting series ASAP to get in for the next one!
