I hope you are enjoying the end of your summer vacations! I have two weeks left of vacation and I have SUCH mixed feelings. On one hand, I am absolutely DYING to get back to stamping - my fingers are itching, my creative ideas are overflowing - I feel like I'm holding my breath!!! TWO MORE WEEKS WOO HOO!
But, I have had THE BEST summer with my family ever. We have been to Disneyland, camping, the PNE, on Wii gaming challenges, and just plain spending time together. I think it's something about their ages - Ry is now 6-1/2, and Ty is 3-1/2 - something about that makes things so much easier to do and SO much fun! Leaving summer and getting back into the routine is an idea I'm not quite sure I'm ready for!
By the way - before I forget, I'm placing an order for 'littles' to get everyone cheap shipping - I'm placing the order at the end of the week, so if you want to get a ribbon, some adhesives or other items, and you don't have enough to make the shipping work, I'll throw it in for you - just let me know by FRIDAY, the 28th.
Now, my own totally fun experiences this summer includes Convention, and I promised you some pics of cards I saw! So, I'm going to do a tour of several fun cards and projects each day for the next two weeks, to get your creative juices flowing! Here goes!
This first card is by LeeAnn Greff
Ok - first off - can you see what's cool about this card??? (ignore the poor quality shot - it's really white) Look closely:
- The background is actually using the Bigshot texture plates for a diamond pattern - SO nice!
- The heart is actually made using the new wedding designer paper, punched using the three flower punch, and then layered in a heart shape. Can you see how the design on the paper is actually reflective and shiny? It's SO beautiful!
- The bottom is using the scallop edge punch - I know almost everyone has this already, but I love showing how you can use it!
What a nice wedding card, eh? Picture it lots more white - I couldn't get a good balance on this one (late at night photography spells disaster for me!
This was up on the display boards (there are literally THOUSANDS of projects on display at convention - you have to devote hours just to look at them!). I love this one though - here are some of my favourite parts of it:
- I love using the butterfly Bigshot diecuts for a little beauty, along with Rhinestone brads. SO beautiful!
- I love the use of the clear acetate designer paper - with polkadots are beautiful! (LOL - it's either that or the bigshot texture plates again - I can't tell!)
- I LOVE how the traditional 'frame' look is broken up by the flowers and butterflies in the corners on the OUTSIDE of the frame- it really makes it a piece of art.
- I love the jumbo grommets in the flower - that has to be my favourite look right now! LOVING those grommets, and I'm using them in so many projects these days!
- I THINK that she used rubons on the glass to add yet another dimension - don't you love how many layers this project has?? It's so beautiful!
- And of course, I LOVE that Cottage Wall Designer Paper - it's probably the most popular one I'm selling this year!

Thanks so much for featuring my card on your blog Kari! I am thrilled that you love it.
And congrats on Demo of the year too!
I also earned Founders Circle this year - my first time! Maybe we can meet up.
