One of the big reasons I started this 'Me & Mine' scrapbook was to have a chance to impart some of my thoughts about and to my kids. They LOVE flipping through this album (there are fingerprints on the pics to prove it!), and they love reading what I wrote.
This month's layout is one of my favourites - I took the opportunity to write what I wished for both of them. The text is copied below for you (I hear sometimes it's hard to read what I wrote from the pic).. we'll be making this layout Thursday in the Scrapbook Class actually! (yep, there is still space, email me if you want to come: $10 for a 2 page, 8" layout in your choice of paper/colours from my collection!), or free with a $25+ order that evening.
For the last 2 weeks of June, if you order one of the Featured products that I used to make this project (listed below), I will pay your shipping for you! (you must order through me for this to qualify) - here are the featured items!
Spiral Punch, #108341, $13.75
I got the look of a journal page by punching the edge with the Spiral Punch (a fave of mine), and then lightly bending the edge up so it looked 'torn out'. LOVE this punch - so many uses! (just wait until you see my filmstrip layout!)
Eyelet Border Punch, #113692, $19.95
I LOVE the eyelet border punch - that's the one I used to make the eyelet edges on each side of the layout - I use this one all the time to make faux lace on cards and scrapbook pages - a HUGE favourite of mine!
Valet Ribbon Originals, #114318, $17.50 ON SALE FOR $13.13 while supplies last!
I must have had three packs of this year, and I've gone through almost all of them! I LOVED these colours, and the texture of these ribbons was SO much fun to play with. It retires in 2 weeks officially, and as an accessory, when it's gone it's gone! Was for sure my favourite ribbon pack this year.
Here's the text:
Ryan and Tyler:
What I Wish For You..
to know there is something bigger than you out there, and to feel free to find it in whatever way is right for you.
to be strong in your beliefs, but also remember that true wisdom is to consider other points of view while expressing your own, and never to ‘lock in’ to your beliefs.
to treat the needs of your partner and friendships as equal to your own, and not more or less.
to know that no matter what life holds for you, you will always have a safe, loving home to return to, recharge, and re-engage life.
To remember to love first and be joyful in life.
To live with integrity to your beliefs always.
